Medical Director-Hospice

The Medical Director will assume responsibility for the medical component of the hospice program, serve as a clinical resource to the interdisciplinary team, support appropriate hospice eligibility and certification decisions, and help ensure continuity and quality of physician services.

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
  • Active, unrestricted Ohio physician license.
  • Current state and federal controlled-substance registrations.
  • Hospice or palliative-care experience, or substantive training in end-of-life care.
  • Knowledge of Medicare hospice eligibility, certification, recertification, and Conditions of Participation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with attending physicians and interdisciplinary hospice teams.
  • Commitment to continued medical education related to hospice and palliative medicine.
  • Eligible to participate in Medicare and not excluded from any federal healthcare program.
  • Strong communication, clinical judgment, documentation, and relationship-development skills.
