The Cook is responsible for preparing all meals at the PRTF facility, and cleaning their workspace throughout the day while following  health and safety guidelines. The cook will  follow recipes/menus consistently, make adjustments based on client  requests, and communicate with residential staff to ensure meals are nutritious and prepared in a timely manner.

 

The Cook is an important position in our facility. Some of the job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

 

Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh and available on site. 

Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients.

Bake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry and other foods.

Present, garnish and arrange final dishes.

Serve food to all residents of the facility, ONLY.

Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment and dishes

Handle and store ingredients and food.

Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.

Ensure that all food procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.

Ensure kitchen cleanliness procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.

Prepare meals and nourishments utilizing the planned menus of physicians’ diet orders, as applicable.

Ensure excellent communication among staff, residents, and families.

Respect others by treating them the way we want to be treated.

Demonstrate kindness, compassion, honesty, and integrity at all times.

Help create a culture of superior customer service.

 

 

Previous experience in food service, 1 year (Preferred)

High school diploma or GED preferred

Successful criminal background check

Long-term care facility experience preferred

Serve Safe Certified or be eligible to complete within the first 12 months of employment.
