PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Analyze, organize and define production methods and processes required to manufacture new and special components and products within the power and telecommunications industries. Under the direction of engineering personnel, perform tests and studies to resolve manufacturing problems and seek process improvements. Train and aid new employees in set up and operational procedures. Operate manufacturing equipment as required or necessary to meet production demands.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

1. Work closely with engineering personnel to assist in developing new methods and procedures, tool designs, etc.

2. Observe, analyze, and participate in manufacturing operations to make recommendations to improve methods, tooling, equipment, and simplify operations to reduce costs of manufacture and improve quality.

3. Document accepted methods and processes in applicable Work Instructions and maintain records and files pertinent to department functions.

4. Assist engineering personnel to plan production operations for new and complex products, new tool designs, equipment modifications, and applications as assigned. Confer with department supervisors to resolve problems relative to the methods prescribed.

5. Work from route sheets, work orders, product specifications and general instructions to set up and operate production and prototype machinery.

6. Troubleshoot malfunctions and make corrective adjustments or repairs as necessary. Perform daily maintenance on equipment as needed.

7. Perform duties as trainer on set ups, adjustments, troubleshooting, and operating; maintain required performance evaluations on trainees. Maintain work area and equipment in an orderly fashion.

8. Report all malfunctioning of equipment or any questionable matters to maintenance or Department Supervisor.

9. Follow standard or prescribed safety practices.

10. Perform similar and associated duties as required.

11. Actively seek solutions to problems using the team concept.

12. Maintain all documentation required for ISO.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Degree in Manufacturing / Technical related discipline
