About the Role:

Sr. Systems Engineer (Space Electronics)

Systems Engineering & Technical Leadership

  • Support system architecture, requirements development, integration, and verification activities across embedded electronic system projects.
  • Coordinate technical activities across electrical, FPGA, embedded software, mechanical, manufacturing, and systems engineering teams.
  • Participate in technical reviews including design, integration, and test readiness reviews.
  • Support technical risk identification, issue resolution, and product lifecycle activities from development through deployment.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable customer and engineering standards.

Embedded Systems & Electronics

  • Provide technical guidance and oversight for embedded systems, FPGA, firmware, and electronic hardware development activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on system integration, hardware/software interfaces, and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Support laboratory integration, system bring-up, validation, and qualification activities.
  • Review technical documentation including interface documentation, test procedures, and engineering reports.
  • Support customer integration and deployment activities as required.

Mechanical & Environmental Integration

  • Collaborate with mechanical engineering teams to support thermal, structural, and packaging considerations for ruggedized electronic systems.
  • Support environmental qualification activities including vibration, thermal, and related testing efforts.

Customer & Team Collaboration

  • Interface with customers, vendors, and partners on technical matters including requirements, integration, and design reviews.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support collaborative engineering execution across multidisciplinary teams.



Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

• 10+ years of experience in embedded systems, electronic systems, aerospace, defense, or related industries.

• Experience with systems engineering practices and documentation such as interface control documents and requirement traceability.

• Experience with embedded systems and electronic hardware integration.

• Familiarity with FPGA development using VHDL and/or Verilog.

• Familiarity with software for embedded targets.

• Experience troubleshooting and validating complex electronic systems.

• Familiarity with electronic lab equipment and debugging techniques.

• Understanding systems engineering principles including integration, verification, and technical documentation.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
