Develops strategies to improve customer service, drive convenience store sales, gasoline and cigarette sales, and increase profitability. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for full financial accountability for all profit and loss centers. Spends considerable time in the operations MBWA (Management by Walking Around). Responsible for designing and implementing improvement processes and operational policies. Forecasts staffing needs and develops recruiting strategies to provide optimum staffing in all areas. Responsible for providing flawless customer service and establish a positive guest perception. Mentors, coaches and gives direction to team members to instill the spirit of teamwork, communications and planning. Recruits, interviews, trains and evaluates supervisor/coordinators, team members, deli team members and floor coordinators. Responsible for merchandising products. Coordinates work schedules, opening/closing duties, ordering, receiving, and Point-of-Sale training, and merchandising of all products. Coordinates with manufacturer’s cigarette representatives; developing and maintaining product information for effective and profitable promotional activities: Product buy-downs Product coupons Shelf space allocation Pricing—price changing Coordinates with accounting for assistance with daily deposits, reports, sales drawer cash over/short, and inventory as well as data entry verification. Processes all invoices and coordinates payment with accounting department. Develops annual marketing plan with the assistance of the Resort Marketing Department. Coordinates marketing materials with vendors. Develops and maintains policy and procedures and handling customer transactions including shipping and handling. Orders gasoline, cigarettes and other goods from distributors. Inventories all orders when they are delivered. Ensures customer’s needs are met, complaints resolved, and service is quick, efficient and courteous. Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia. Additional Responsibilities Performs additional duties as requested. Key Performance Indicators This position has Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) identified as a measurement of success. KPI’s will be shared with all team members who work in this job title and feedback will be provided regarding the successful completion of the KPI’s as part of the performance review process. Qualifications Education and Experience Required: High School Diploma, GED Certification or equivalent. Four (4) years retail management experience. Must be at least 21 years of age. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree. License/Certifications/Registrations Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New Mexico driver’s license. Must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server's License prior to hire date. Ability to obtain and maintain any other licenses and/or certifications as determined by management. Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation. Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.
