Job Description 

 

POSITION:Production Associate – Solderer 

 

REPORTS TO:Cell Team Leader 

 

AREA:Production 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High school education or equivalent 

  • Ability to read and understand assembly documentation 

  • Hand dexterity and hand/eye coordination 

  • Verbal and written communication skills 

  • Knowledge of related tools and equipment 

  • Works well in team environment 

  • IPC-A-610 certification 

  • IPC-J-STD-001 Certified in soldering for both Thru-hole and SMT 

  • DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to: 

  • Assemble and inspect electrical panels/circuit boards/assemblies per related documentation and drawings 

  • Trim and form leaded parts 

  • Use a soldering iron to build basic electrical assemblies per the related documentation 

  • Properly fill out production documentation 

  • Communicate with Cell Team Leaders on parts shortages and problems 

  • Final assembly and/or pack and ship as required 

  • Rotate to different workstations and different cells as needed 

  • As required – complete hour-by-hour forms or other documentation for cycle time/performance analysis 

  • Component preparation, placement, and installation 

  • Mechanical assembly as required 

  • Participate in training and certification programs to ensure job knowledge and skills set requirements are updated regularly 

  • Perform hand soldering, inspection, and touch-up of thru-hole/SMT, mixed assemblies and custom parts as per specifications and IPC workmanship standards 

  • Perform rework of thru-hole/SMT, mixed assemblies and custom parts as per specifications and IPC workmanship standards
