Overview

Perform technical administrative work involving project management, review and approval and technical assistance in support of building operational systems in new or remodeled State buildings. Coordinate and analyze the design of facilities support systems on initial architectural and structural plans.

 

This position is being recruited in support of potential future contract awards, and qualified candidates may be considered for upcoming opportunities supporting federal government clients.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts periodic inspections of mechanical, electrical, instrumental systems located in/around new and existing state-owned or state-leased facilities and formulate recommendations based on findings.
  • Analyzes system design specifications, drawings and bidding documents for physical feasibility, code compliance, cost effectiveness, and completeness.
  • Prepares reports correspondence, design review of specifications, drawings and bidding packages for State agencies lacking engineering support.
  • Conducts building surveys to address condition of buildings; structural components and performance of systems operations.
  • Analyzes long range project funding needs for the Division of Facilities Management and other State agencies.
  • This individual must have knowledge of general mechanical and electrical engineering theories and application including heating, ventilation and power distribution requirements for major buildings or a complex (institutional, and possesses skill in analyzing building systems designs, evaluating alternative and providing cost-effective solutions. Has the ability to develop good working relationships with people of diverse backgrounds and capabilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Delaware. Preference will be given to those knowledgeable in mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
