POSITION SUMMARY

The Sales Representative is responsible for selling company products and services within an assigned territory by developing leads, acquiring new customers, and strengthening relationships with existing accounts. This role requires a strong understanding of the company’s offerings and the ability to communicate their value effectively to customers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Identifies and researches prospective customers by leveraging diverse market‑intelligence sources to build a strong pipeline of qualified sales opportunities. (may include newspapers, business directories, industry publications, trade shows, online platforms, etc)
•    Engage regularly with customers across the assigned territory to strengthen relationships, understand needs, and grow the business.
•    Conducts product demonstrations to highlight key features and support the sales process.
•    Issues pricing, credit terms, and sales contracts, and assists with credit applications and past‑due account collections.
•    Provides customers with accurate delivery estimate or service completion timelines based on production schedules, and resource availability.
•    Develops relationships with purchasing and other key decision makers to support account growth and retention.
•    Delivers product specific instruction and coordinates customer onboarding and training to ensure effective use of products and services.
•    Investigates and resolves delivery or service issues to maintain customer satisfaction.
•    Consistently meets or exceeds assigned sales quotas through effective territory and account management.
•    Promotes and sells the Merchandising System and related products, demonstrating features and value to customers.
•    May represent the company at state and regional trade shows to generate leads and strengthen customer relationships.
•    Prepares accurate reports on sales activities, business transactions, and expense submissions.
•    Enters and maintains customer and sales data in the CRM or relevant systems to ensure data accuracy and visibility.
•    Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

•    Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Engineering, or related field.
•    6+ years progressive business experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•    Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
•    High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
•    Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
•    Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
•    Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
•    Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
•    Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
•    Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.

PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

•    Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.  
•    Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. 
•    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
•    Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
•    The noise level in the work environment is usually low/moderate.
