Orthopedic Spine Surgeon - Medical Reviewer (TN)

Dane Street is seeking experienced Board-Certified Orthopedic Spine Surgeons licensed in Tennessee to join our growing panel of independent physician reviewers. In this role, you will apply your clinical expertise to conduct comprehensive medical record reviews and provide objective, evidence-based opinions on cases involving spinal conditions, injuries, treatments, and surgical interventions.

This fully remote opportunity offers flexible scheduling and the ability to customize your workload while working as a 1099 independent contractor.

As a Physician Reviewer, you will evaluate medical records, prepare concise clinical summaries, and provide independent medical opinions in response to specific questions posed by our clients. Reviews may include assessments of medical necessity, appropriateness of care, causation, impairment, treatment recommendations, and other issues related to orthopedic spine care.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Reviewing medical records and supporting documentation
• Conducting evidence-based clinical assessments
• Preparing clear, comprehensive written reports
• Participating in peer-to-peer discussions when necessary
• Answering client-specific questions regarding orthopedic spine diagnoses, treatment plans, and surgical interventions
• Applying current clinical guidelines and standards of care to all reviews

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery
• Fellowship training and significant experience in Spine Surgery preferred
• Current, unrestricted Tennessee medical license
• Active clinical practice or recent experience in orthopedic spine surgery
• Minimum of 5 years of post-residency clinical experience
• Ability to attend required orientation and training sessions
• Maintain all applicable licensure, certifications, credentialing, and professional requirements necessary to perform reviewer services

• Independent consultant role with flexible scheduling
• Ability to choose case types and workload based on availability
• No physician-patient relationship established; no treatment is rendered—reviews are advisory in nature only

• Fully prepared cases with chronological medical records and applicable clinical guidelines
• Initial training, ongoing support, and a dedicated point of contact
