Unit Head – SME Commercial

Summary of Role

Responsible for managing the team of credit analyst and Relationship managers. Accountable for overseeing, managing and increasing the portfolio, securing sales in line with the business plan.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Generation
   • To contribute to the development of the bank's overall business plan by identifying income-generating opportunities in defined market industries.
     
   • Responsible for the team's income generating opportunities.
     
   • Manage account relationships with current portfolio, trying to maximize the account profitability. To establish account relationships with new customers within the sector.
     
   • Handle accounts in specific situations where S.RM / RMs are not available.
     
2. Credit management
   • Review credit proposal for new exposure as well as additional facilities for existing clients within the portfolio.
     
   • Ensures that the team holds proper documentation in place for all credit exposure as per internal and external guidelines.
     
   • Maintain credit quality of the designated portfolio by overseeing the constant monitoring of accounts and minimizing non-performing assets.
     
3. Team management
   • To ensure that the team receives a well-defined objective, with a clear set of expectations.
     
   • Responsible for identifying areas for training and aligning with HR to re-enforce the team.
     
4. Profitability
   • Generating income from Portfolio
     
   • Maximize market share
     
   • Generate profitability through cross-selling of products and services.
     

Requirements

Education & Experience Requirement

• Omani Nationals only.
  
• Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a related field is required. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in SME banking or related fields is required.
  
• Strong understanding of SME banking products, credit analysis, risk management and regulatory requirements. Experience in leading teams and developing business strategies.
