The Rooms Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all guest rooms and public areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance. This role involves inspecting the work of housekeeping staff, training new employees, and addressing guest feedback related to room quality. It requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment 24/7, requiring flexibility and adaptability to changing business demands. Key Responsibilities:
- Room Inspections:Â Conduct thorough inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to hotel standards.
- Training:Train new housekeeping staff on proper cleaning procedures and standards to promote efficiency and quality of work.
- Inventory Management:Â Perform periodic inventories of supplies and linens to maintain adequate stock levels for housekeeping operations.
- Cleaning Duties: Occasionally assist with cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, changing bed linens, and cleaning bathrooms and kitchen areas as needed.
- Complaint Resolution: Investigate complaints regarding service or cleanliness, analyze information, and evaluate results to determine the best solution for resolution.
- Collaboration:Â Work closely with housekeeping and management to ensure smooth operations and address any issues that arise during inspections.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and evaluate the performance of housekeeping staff to ensure compliance with hotel standards and policies.
- Maintenance Reporting:Â Report any maintenance issues or repairs needed in guest rooms to the appropriate department for timely resolution.
- Guest Engagement: Interact with guests to promote a friendly atmosphere, encouraging feedback and building rapport to enhance the overall experience.
Qualifications:
- Physically able to bend, stoop, and lift heavy objects as needed.
- Previous experience in housekeeping, preferably as a housekeeper or in a similar role.
- Must be reliable and available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Capable of working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with a strong initiative and attention to detail.
- Fully bilingual in Spanish and English to facilitate communication with guests and team members.
