At HammondCare Darlinghurst, an elegant and well-spoken lady enjoys sharing stories from a life rich with travel, family, and experience. Born in Kenya, she later lived in the UK before making Australia home. Connecting with others and hearing about their lives and adventures is what she likes most.

These days, her eyesight makes reading difficult, but her love of learning and conversation remains as strong as ever. She enjoys watching documentaries, especially those about animals, listening to music, testing her knowledge with trivia, and cheering on the Sydney Swans.

A visit with her might include sharing a coffee and a chat, playing a friendly game of Scrabble, watching an interesting documentary together, or simply enjoying each other's company. She walks with the assistance of a walker and enjoys spending time with people who appreciate good conversation and a laugh.

For someone who enjoys creating meaningful connections, this is a wonderful opportunity to brighten the week of a friendly and engaging older woman. 

Volunteer opportunity details:

• Minimum 6-month commitment
