About the Role
Climb Credit partners with career-education and vocational training schools to give students access to fair, transparent financing. This role owns our mid-market segment: schools serving roughly 100 to 500 students a year, with room to grow into the 500-1,000 student range as those accounts scale.
This is a strategic, self-driven role. You'll work multi-stakeholder deals, presenting to finance leads, CEOs, and enrollment leads at schools, and you'll use your judgment on most of the deal, from contract redlines through close. You'll also be selling from Climb's full product suite, explaining to partner schools in plain terms how each option works and program costs and dynamics.
We think of sales as a teaching role. The person who does well here can take something genuinely complex, like how a product's structure changes the fees a school pays, and make it clear and easy to act on for a partner who's never seen it before.
What You'll Do
Own the full sales cycle for mid-market school partners (roughly 100-500 students a year, with room to grow into 500-1,000), from prospecting and outreach through negotiation, close, and onboarding
Sell across Climb's full product suite, not just the core Climb Loan: our 0% interest loan, upfront funding to schools, and both interest-bearing and interest-free payment plans with monthly servicing fees
Clearly explain how Climb makes money on each product and how the fee structure changes depending on what a school selects, so partners fully understand what they're signing up for
Navigate multi-stakeholder conversations at larger, more complex school organizations, speaking credibly with finance leads, CEOs, and enrollment leads, each of whom cares about different things
Work through contract redlines and standard negotiations independently, using Climb's existing guidelines and playbook, and escalate only when something falls outside it
Manage a book of business across multiple markets, with an eye toward growing accounts from mid-size toward larger schools over time
Represent Climb at industry conferences and partner events (roughly 15-20 nights of travel a year, under 10% of total time)
Keep Salesforce accurate and up to date
Your Background and Skills
Experience running a full, consultative sales cycle, ideally with multiple stakeholders involved in a single deal (you probably have 4-8 years of experience)
Comfortable with (or able to quickly get comfortable with) complex financial products - background in financial services or fintech is a plus, but not a hard requirement if you can show you can learn and explain complex products quickly
A natural teacher: you can take something complicated and make it clear, so a partner walks away understanding exactly what they agreed to and why
Self-directed - comfortable making judgment calls and working through issues on your own using existing guidelines
Strong communicator who can adjust tone and framing for different audiences, from a school's finance team to its CEO
Prior outbound/hunting or BDR-style experience - this role leans more toward search-and-engage than pure outbound, so it's a plus, not a requirement
Direct experience with loan or payment-plan products (IRR, loan duration, servicing fees, and similar terms) also very nice to have
Compensation
Base salary: $75,000-$85,000, depending on experience
Commission: $250 per school closed, with a target pace of 3 closes per weekÂ
On-target earnings: roughly $120,000+
