Activity Assistant – Full Time

City View Post Acute is looking for a compassionate, energetic, and creative Activity Assistant to join our team! If you enjoy working with seniors, creating meaningful experiences, and bringing joy and engagement to residents’ daily lives, we’d love to hear from you.

Position: Activity Assistant
Schedule: Full Time – Day Shift
Hours:9:00 AM–5:00 PM or 10:00 AM–6:00 PM
Pay:$18–$22 per hour, DOE (Depending on Experience)

General Purpose

The primary purpose of the Activity Assistant is to assist the Activity Director in planning and conducting a creative, interactive, and meaningful activities program for our residents.

The Activity Assistant helps ensure that activities are designed to meet the individual interests, abilities, and physical, mental, and psychosocial needs of each resident. All activities must be conducted in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company standards and guidelines.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participate in planning and conducting individual, small-group, and large-group activities.

  • Help create an engaging and welcoming environment that encourages resident participation and social interaction.

  • Assist with the development of the monthly activity calendar and maintain accurate attendance records.

  • Encourage residents to participate in self-directed activities such as hobbies, crafts, reading, games, music, and other interests.

  • Provide appropriate activity and reading materials, including Braille or audiobooks when needed.

  • Assist with developing and implementing activity care plans based on resident assessments and individual interests.

  • Participate in discharge planning and resident assessments as assigned.

  • Assist with completing assessment documentation and quarterly progress notes as directed by the Activity Director.

  • Help coordinate and participate in resident outings and community activities.

  • Assist with arranging transportation for residents when necessary, including outings, appointments, and discharge.

  • Ensure that residents who are bed-bound, isolated, or unable to attend group activities have appropriate in-room activities and opportunities for engagement.

  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, coworkers, support personnel, government agencies, and members of the community.

  • Participate in community planning and activities related to the interests and needs of residents and their families.

  • Assist the Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee with developing and implementing plans of action related to identified quality concerns, as requested by the Activity Director.

  • Help maintain a clean, organized, safe, and secure Activity Department.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Activity Director.
