Job SummaryĀ
The Transient Aircraft Services (TAS) TechnicianĀ is responsible forĀ the execution ofĀ aircraftĀ ground handling and servicing operations at an assigned installation. Reporting directly to the Supervisor, the TAS Technician performsĀ aircraftĀ arrival, marshaling, parking, servicing, turn-around, and departure tasks in support of mission requirements.Ā
This position ensures allĀ aircraftĀ servicing activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS), applicable Technical Orders, airfield safety standards, and U.S. Government/U.S. Air Force directives. The TAS Technician is accountable forĀ maintainingĀ operational readiness, adhering to strict safety protocols, and supporting continuous 24/7/365 flight line operations in a high-tempo, austere environment.Ā
Roles and ResponsibilitiesĀ Ā
Maintain a ZERO Harm workplace by strictly adhering to all flight line safety requirements, including FOD prevention, tool control, and proper use of PPEĀ at all times.Ā
PerformĀ aircraftĀ marshaling, parking, and positioningĀ in accordance withĀ applicable Technical Orders and airfield procedures.Ā
ExecuteĀ aircraftĀ arrival and departure services, includingĀ chocking, grounding, and ensuring safe positioning on the flight line.Ā
ConductĀ aircraftĀ servicing operations, including general ground handling tasks required to supportĀ aircraftĀ turn-around and mission readiness.Ā
AssistĀ inĀ aircraftĀ launch and recovery operations in coordination with Supervisors and Airfield Management.Ā
Perform operator-level inspections and servicing of assigned equipment, including vehicles and support equipment used in TAS operations.Ā
Maintain strict accountability of tools and equipment;Ā ensure compliance with tool control programs at all times.Ā
Participate in FOD prevention activities, including routine flight line inspections and immediate removal of foreign objects.Ā
Follow all applicable Technical Orders, safety directives, and standard operating procedures during allĀ aircraftĀ servicing operations.Ā
Communicate effectively with Supervisors and team members to ensure safe and efficient execution of tasks.Ā
IdentifyĀ and report safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, and operational issues to leadershipĀ immediately.Ā
Support documentation requirements, includingĀ aircraftĀ servicing records, shift logs, and inspection checklists.Ā
AssistĀ inĀ maintainingĀ cleanliness and organization of the flight line and work areas.Ā
Support training and qualification requirements toĀ maintainĀ mission readiness and compliance with certification standards.Ā
Perform duties in austere conditions, including extreme weather, whileĀ maintainingĀ safety and operational discipline.Ā
PerformĀ additionalĀ duties andĀ tasks asĀ assigned by the Supervisor or Site Manager.Ā

Basic QualificationsĀ Ā
Must be a U.S. citizenāÆĀ
Ability to obtain/maintainĀ a SECRET clearanceĀ Ā
Ability toĀ maintainĀ operational continuity across rotations and work within Government-led governance rhythmsĀ
Minimum 3ā5 years of experience in aviation operations,Ā aircraftĀ maintenance, or Transient Aircraft ServicesĀ Ā
Hands-on experience working on a flight line or inĀ aircraftĀ ground operationsĀ Ā
Basic knowledge of:Ā Ā
AircraftĀ marshaling and ground handling proceduresĀ Ā
Flight line safety requirementsĀ Ā
Use of ground support equipmentĀ

Ā
Preferred QualificationsĀ
Prior experience supporting U.S. Air Force TAS operationsĀ
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification or equivalent military experienceĀ
Familiarity with FOD programs, tool control, and flight line safety complianceĀ
Experience coordinating with MOC, Airfield Management, andĀ aircraftĀ maintenance teams.Ā
