Assistant Coach, Player Development Men's Basketball

Job Summary:

The Player Development Assistant Coach supports the overall success of the men's basketball program with a primary focus on the individual skill development and long-term growth of student-athletes, both on and off the floor. This position works closely with the coaching staff, strength and conditioning staff, and sports performance team to design and execute individualized development plans that improve on-court performance and prepare players to perform at their optimal level.

Key Responsibilities

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Design and implement individualized skill development plans for each player based on position, role, and areas of improvement

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Conduct individual and small-group workouts (pre-practice, post-practice, and out-of-season)

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Analyze film to identify player tendencies, strengths, and areas for growth; deliver actionable feedback to the head coach/staff

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Track player progress through measurable benchmarks (shooting percentages, ball-handling metrics, etc.)

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist in practice planning and execution under direction of the Head Coach

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Support scouting and game-day preparation as assigned聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Mentor student-athletes on professional habits, work ethic, and career planning聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist with administrative duties as needed or as directed by the Head Coach

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Monitor the academic progress of select players assigned by the Head Coach

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Maintain compliance with NCAA, conference, and university rules and regulations

Qualifications

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 At least 1 year of prior coaching or several years of playing D1sports at the collegiate or professional level.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Demonstrated expertise in individual skill instruction (shooting mechanics, ball-handling, footwork, finishing, etc.)

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Strong understanding of film breakdown and player analytics

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with student-athletes

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance standards

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Preferred Experience

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience with player development technology (e.g., Synergy, Noah Basketball, ShotTracker, HomeCourt, etc.)

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Relationships within the basketball community (grassroots, professional, scouting, agents, etc.) a plus
