Swaniti Initiative is a social enterprise that isworking at the intersection of climate, governance and last mile delivery. Webelieve that while the willingness and resources exist, there are fundamentalgaps in the execution within communities that is the biggest crisis in theclimate movement. Accordingly, Swaniti works with sub national governments toconduct micro planning exercises with consultations with community and keystakeholders to understand the pathways forward, provide technical assistance tosub national governments to provide support in program implementation andsupport in monitoring and delivery of programs.
Swaniti has been working across multiplegeographies in the global south to unlock capital. Our three core metricsinclude unlocking public capital, ensuring last mile communities are directlybenefited and creating systemic changes in the public service systems. While weare continuing to focus on impact, it is critical to have a lead who has a deepunderstanding about monitoring, evaluation and learning. Our intention is tocreate an institutional capability to measure and document the scale of ourimpact and look at how learning can be replicated across the institution.
Position Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and versatileGeneralist with strong writing skills and a solid background in research,climate and sustainability, environmental issues, and governance. The idealcandidate should be familiar with environmental policies, climate changemitigation strategies, and governance frameworks.
The role offers the opportunity to be involved in awide range of activities, including research and report writing with focus onsustainability and environmental governance in Andhra Pradesh.
Roles & Responsibilities
1.Develop high-quality research documents, along with need assessment, situationanalysis, data analysis, brainstorming with relevant stakeholders.
2. Coordinate, manage, and draft comprehensiveresearch paper on community readiness.
3. Take innovative and research driven perspectiveon framing recommendations and policy insights for sub nationalstakeholders.
4. Work with organizational leadership with thestate administration to operationalize the feedback that is being collectedwithin communities to promote sustainable practices and environmentalgovernance.
5. Organize and execute events, seminars, androundtable discussions etc. and provide any additional support to build outcapabilities.
Requirements
Requirements
Candidateswith prior professional experience in the development sector, particularly inareas such as climate change, sustainability, environmental governance, publicpolicy, community development, or government engagement, will be preferred.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in EnvironmentalScience, Public Policy, Sustainability, Climate Studies, Governance, or arelated field.
- At least 2–3 years of professionalexperience in research, climate change, environmental governance, sustainability in the field of energy efficiency or the energy conservation program with the MSME.
- Proven experience in writinghigh-quality reports, research papers, policy briefs, and other professionaldocuments.
- Familiarity with environmentalpolicies, climate change mitigation strategies, and governance frameworks.
- Strong command of both English andHindi is necessary for this role.
