This is an exciting, owner-side construction and facilities coordination role responsible for supporting project execution, facility operations, workplace readiness, and vendor management. The position oversees work performed by contractors and service providers on behalf of the company but does not perform construction labor or serve as a construction foreman, superintendent, or general contractor. The ideal candidate will have experience in facilities management, facilities coordination, workplace services, building operations, manufacturing facilities, property management, project coordination, infrastructure support, or owner-side construction project support environments.
 
This position will be for our new manufacturing facility in Joliet and will initially be employed by Hyundai Translead's corporate office but will be remote from the State of Illinois to support the launch of the Company’s new manufacturing facility before transitioning to full time, onsite once the facility is operational. 
 

Pay Range: $61,540 - $70,805 annually

Job Summary

The Construction & Facilities Partner supports the planning, coordination, execution, and continuous improvement of construction, facilities, workplace services, infrastructure, and operational readiness initiatives. This role partners with internal stakeholders, contractors, vendors, consultants, landlords, and service providers to support facility operations, construction projects, workplace readiness, maintenance programs, infrastructure improvements, and business continuity objectives. Responsibilities include project coordination, contractor oversight, facility administration, maintenance support, workplace services management, operational readiness activities, compliance support, and continuous improvement initiatives that contribute to a safe, efficient, and productive work environment.

Essential Functions

  • Support facility renovation, infrastructure improvement, utility upgrade, and workplace readiness projects.
  • Coordinate contractors, vendors, service providers, consultants, landlords, and internal stakeholders throughout project execution and facility operations.
  • Support construction-related site administration activities including contractor coordination, temporary facility setup, office readiness, and operational support.
  • Coordinate office setup, furniture installation, access control systems, utilities, workplace services, and infrastructure readiness activities.
  • Monitor project schedules, project documentation, action items, and issue resolution activities.
  • Support facility maintenance programs, preventative maintenance initiatives, repair requests, and service provider management.
  • Coordinate facility-related vendors including janitorial, landscaping, pest control, utilities, maintenance contractors, and workplace service providers.
  • Maintain facility records, asset inventories, service contracts, operating procedures, project documentation, and related records.
  • Support workplace moves, office modifications, infrastructure upgrades, and facility improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, environmental standards, and applicable facility regulations.
  • Monitor facility operational performance, service quality, costs, and vendor performance while identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Support the creation of a safe, efficient, and employee-friendly workplace environment.
  • Independently coordinate facility maintenance, workplace services, contractor activities, and project administration.
  • Support construction projects, renovation projects, utility upgrades, and infrastructure initiatives.
  • Monitor project schedules and coordinate issue resolution among contractors and stakeholders.
  • Manage routine contractor communications and facility vendor relationships.
  • Support office moves, workspace modifications, and operational readiness efforts.
  • Analyze facility requests and coordinate appropriate solutions with service providers.
  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Functions (Continued)

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 years of relevant experience supporting construction projects, facility operations, workplace services, property management, contractor coordination, or similar functions.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, service providers, or external business partners.
  • Working knowledge of building systems, utilities, facility maintenance programs, and site operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic architectural, mechanical, electrical, and utility drawings.
