General Purpose
Complete nutritional initial, quarterly, annual and significant change reviews on residents according to federal and stateĀ 
guidelines. Assist in coordination of nutrition care services with Dietary Supervisor. Complete nutritional reviews monthly
on high risk residents (significant weight loss/gain, pressure ulcer, hemodialysis, and tube fed).


Essential Duties
• Ability to meet all health, compliance, and competency requirements.
• Attends and participates in morning meetings/stand up to facilitate communications with the team.
• Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions and current health plans in order to develop and implement dietary care
plans and provides nutritional counseling as needed.
• Monitor food services operations to ensure conformance to nutritional, safety, sanitation and quality standards, as
well as state and federal regulations.
• Monitor food control systems such as food temperatures, portion control, preparation methods, garnishment and
presentation of food in order to ensure that food is prepared and presented in an acceptable manner.
• Inspect diet trays for conformance to physician’s diet orders prior to delivery.
• Consult with physicians and other health care personnel (Dialysis Dietitians, Nurse Practitioners, etc.) to
determine diet restrictions and nutritional needs of residents.
• Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with patients/residents, families, staff and professional
colleagues.


Supervisory Requirements
Assists with the overall supervision and management of the dietary staff.


Qualification
Education and/or Experience

Registered Dietitian or completion of approved Bachelor Degree with majorĀ 
studies in Food and Nutrition and eligible for the RD Exam.
Preferable one-year experience in a clinical health care setting or completionĀ 
of an accredited internship.Ā 

Language Skills

Ability to read technical procedures. Ability to read and comprehend policyĀ 
and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respondĀ 
to questions from managers and employees.


Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportionsĀ 
to practical situations.


Physical Demands
The essential functions of this position require the following physical abilities:
Standing and /or walking very frequently. Sitting occasionally. Reaching with hands and arms frequently, pushing/pulling veryĀ 
frequently. Talking and /or hearing very frequently. Tasting and /or smelling very frequently. Lifting up to 50 poundsĀ 
frequently. Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling occasionally. Close, distance, color, peripheral, andĀ 
depth perception in vision: ability to adjust focus.
