Job Description

About the role:

As a leading member ofĀ theĀ CorporateĀ EHSĀ Team, this roleĀ drivesĀ theĀ development and implementation of Takeda’s EHS Management System.Ā This role works across the enterprise toĀ drive the continuous improvement of our EHS Management system,Ā bringingĀ clarity and simplificationĀ into process complianceĀ whileĀ simplifying andĀ maintainingĀ Takeda’s ISO accreditations across theĀ enterprise. The purpose of theĀ EHS Management SystemsĀ Lead is to:

  • ServeĀ asĀ Takeda’sĀ subjectĀ matterĀ expertĀ for corporate EHS management systems,Ā overseeingĀ alignmentĀ with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards andĀ internalĀ requirements.Ā 

  • Lead and coordinate theĀ development, deployment, andĀ ongoingĀ maintenanceĀ of corporate EHS management systemĀ documents,Ā encompassingĀ policies, standards, andĀ operatingĀ procedures.Ā 

  • DriveĀ strategicĀ management system projects and leadĀ continuousĀ improvementĀ initiativesĀ toĀ ensureĀ theĀ effectiveness,Ā efficiency, andĀ forwardĀ evolutionĀ of EHSĀ programs.Ā 

  • LeverageĀ EHS management system audits,Ā toĀ proactivelyĀ identifyingĀ gapsĀ andĀ informĀ strategicĀ directionĀ for Management System Compliance andĀ evolutionĀ acrossĀ Takeda’sĀ operations.Ā 

  • Drive EHS Management SystemĀ developmentĀ thatĀ directlyĀ supportsĀ Takeda’sĀ EHS performance and RiskĀ reductionĀ objectivesĀ 

How you will contribute:

  • Develop and manage operating mechanisms for effective EHS Management System implementation, execution, and monitoring using a risk-based, continuous improvement approach.Ā 

  • Structure and simplify EHS management systems and technical standards, embedding clear roles, ownership, and accountability.Ā 

  • Build relationships with internal teams and external stakeholdersĀ andĀ regulatory agencies to benchmark and elevate EHS management capability.Ā 

  • Lead management system projects and continual improvement, anchored by the monitoring of metrics such asĀ pSIF/SIF incidents, audit nonconformances, and environmental data.Ā 

  • Develop and deliverĀ Management SystemĀ training, solutions, templates, and guidance supporting global site compliance with Takeda’s requirements.Ā 

  • Monitor regulatory, technology, and proactively informing system design and the long-term EHS transformation roadmap.Ā 

  • Prepare and deliver annual EHS Management Reviews, synthesizingĀ dataĀ andĀ identifyingĀ opportunities for continual improvement.Ā 

  • Lead EHS-related change management, including digital and compliance transformations, and adoption of best practices.Ā 

What you bring to Takeda:

Essential:Ā Ā Ā 

  • Degree in engineering,Ā life sciencesĀ orĀ similarĀ field;Ā 10+Ā yearsĀ ofĀ experienceĀ inĀ Pharmaceutical,Ā Biopharmaceutical, orĀ similarĀ manufacturingĀ industry;Ā Ā 

  • Minimum 5+Ā yearsĀ experienceĀ orĀ equivalentĀ formalĀ training onĀ EHS Management SystemĀ developmentĀ and deploymentĀ atĀ corporateĀ levelĀ inĀ multinationalĀ ManufacturingĀ organisations.Ā 

  • ExperienceĀ collaboratingĀ with cross-functionalĀ teams,Ā regulatoryĀ agenciesĀ andĀ vendorsĀ 

  • Experience in program management andĀ demonstratedĀ applicationĀ of health andĀ safetyĀ practices.Ā Ā 

  • ExpertiseĀ inĀ ISOĀ 14000 and 45000,Ā EHS riskĀ managementĀ andĀ developmentĀ ofĀ Management Systems,Ā StructuresĀ and Standards.Ā
