Job Description:

In this role, you will be responsible for the operation of specialized heavy equipment used in construction, repair, and maintenance of municipal rights-of-way.

 Examples of Duties:

  • Operates heavy equipment, such as excavators, motor graders, and bulldozers.
  • Operates lighter equipment as required.
  • Completes work orders and daily worksheets.
  • Performs daily maintenance on equipment operated and maintains records of such maintenance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate’s (AA/AS) and two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  •  Current South Carolina Commercial Driver’s License – Class A.

 Other Necessary Requirements:

  • May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
  • In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City’s needs.
