The Investor Relations Manager reports to the Vice President of Investor Relations and assists with coordination of quarterly earnings process as well as providing analysis of company operating results, competitive analysis, industry trends, shareholder analysis and stock performance.  The position will also assist with investor communications, presentations and will prepare special projects for the VP of Investor Relations as requested - including various analyses, modeling, and research.  

 The position will work closely with the financial planning and analysis team regarding the current and expected performance of AutoNation compared to competitors. 

This role sits out of our Fort Lauderdale HQ.

Primary Job Responsibilities:


•    Assist with the development of content for quarterly earnings and investor presentations including the investor deck press release, and other related materials.

•    Lead the process for the compilation of investor Q&A and quarterly earnings book data collection and distribution.

•    Integrate AI tools into workflows to drive efficiency while not compromising accuracy and consistency.

•    Assist with the analysis of peer companies’ current and forward period estimates to provide performance benchmarks for AutoNation leadership.  

•    Monitor market data for industry, competitors, OEMs, and adjacent peers as well as company stock performance, and current financial market conditions.

•    Support the IR efforts in developing a more targeted approach to shareholder and analyst engagement.  

•    Participate in discussions with both sell-side and buy-side analysts.

•    Collect and provide summary information on consensus estimates, analyst models updates and stock valuation metrics.  

•    Coordinate industry and economic data and analysis with third party providers.  

•    Maintain the IR website.

•    Maintain IR vendor relationships including coordination of invoice payments.

•    Provide regular support to Corporate Accounting, as well as prepare ad hoc analyses and projects as requested.


Organizational Relationships:

•    Internal: Senior financial management including the CFO, SVP/Chief Accounting Officer, VP Controller, Treasurer, VP of Financial Planning & Analysis, Communications and Legal.  

•    External: Sell-side analysts, institutional and retail investors, third party service providers

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, MBA a plus
  • 2-5 years financial analysis, treasury, or accounting experience 
  • High level of proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word 
  • An inquisitive mindset and working knowledge of financial markets
  • Superior communication and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to work flexible schedule
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years investor relations
  • Experience in automotive and/or retail industries
  • Hands-on experience with FactSet, NASDAQ IR Insight, Essbase
