POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Support IR operations by receiving and reviewing referrals for Interventional Radiology procedures and consultations and ensuring all required clinical, demographic, insurance, and imaging documentation is complete.
  • Coordinate referrals, outpatient procedures, follow-up visits, and scheduling while obtaining missing information and providing backup scheduling support as needed.
  • Obtain prior authorizations when required, maintain accurate and confidential patient records, and distribute consultation reports to appropriate parties.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, referring physicians, hospital staff, and insurance companies to facilitate a prompt, helpful, and efficient referral and scheduling process.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of IR procedures and medical terminology along with strong computer, communication, organizational, interpersonal, teamwork, judgment, and confidentiality skills.

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Radiology and/or medical office experience preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal, and organizational communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Positive, cooperative attitude with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort working with hospital patient information systems and radiology workflows.
