IT Techno Functional Manager

1. SAP Configuration, Customization & Integration

• Lead end-to-end implementation, configuration, solution architecture, and custom developments across the SAP suite to align with strategic goals and operational needs.
  

• Bridge technical and functional expertise to design, optimize, troubleshoot, and maintain stable, scalable, and compliant SAP systems throughout all project phases.
  

• Drive continuous system reliability by executing performance tuning, system upgrades, patches, debugging, and proactive issue resolution.
  

• Implement Agile project methodologies to enhance project delivery and foster collaborative work environments.
  

2. Stakeholder Management, User Support & Continuous Improvement

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand processes, deliver end-user training, provide clear communication, and offer ongoing operational support.
  

• Identify continuous improvement opportunities, leverage emerging SAP technologies, and drive long-term business enhancements.
  

• Manage relationships with external SAP vendors, consultants, and implementation partners to ensure high-quality, cost-effective deliverables.
  

3. SAP Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Enforce access controls, user role design, and segregation of duties (SoD) to align with internal controls and audit requirements.
  

• Oversee change management processes, ensuring system modifications are documented, tested, approved, and monitored post-go-live.
  

• Support internal and external audits by maintaining system documentation and compliance evidence following SAP best practices.
  

4. Data Migration, Management & Reporting

• Define and execute a robust data migration strategy ensuring accurate master data governance, seamless transitions from legacy systems, and zero data loss.
  

• Optimize underlying data models and collaborate with business teams to enhance embedded reporting, dashboards, and overall business intelligence outputs.
  

5. System & Interface Integrations

• Design and maintain robust, scalable integration interfaces (including EDI) connecting SAP to external platforms such as tax authority systems, CRM, banking platforms, and legacy operational systems.
  

• Manage and configure middleware solutions (e.g., API Gateways, ESB, SAP CPI).
  

• Monitor message processing, handle error reprocessing, establish alerts, and ensure high availability across integration points.
  

Required Skills and Competencies

Technical Skills & Expertise

• SAP Core & Module Expertise: Hands-on experience configuring and implementing SAP S/4HANA across key modules including SD, MM, PP, FI, QM, and SAP SuccessFactors (EC Core HR & Payroll).
  

• Technical Development & Architecture: ABAP development/debugging for S/4HANA, SAP Fiori app customization, HANA database management, and SAP solution architecture.
  

• Integrations & Middleware: SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI), middleware tools (API Gateways/ESB), EDI integration, and electronic invoicing/tax integrations (e.g., Uganda Revenue Authority EFRIS compliance).
  

• Analytics & Governance: Embedded Analytics, CDS Views, data modeling, SAP Security/Authorizations, and compliance management.
  

• Methodologies & Infrastructure: SAP Activate / ASAP frameworks, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud hosting/network environments.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; a postgraduate qualification in Computer Science is preferred.
  

• Work Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in SAP roles covering both functional and technical responsibilities, including at least one full lifecycle implementation.
  

• Module & Database Proficiency: Hands-on experience across SAP modules (SD, MM, PP, FI, QM, and SAP SuccessFactors/HR), along with practical experience using and implementing HANA databases and data analytics.
  

• Regulatory Compliance: Strong working knowledge of Uganda tax regulations, including EFRIS integration and reporting compliance.
  

• Implementation Frameworks: Proven experience in SAP project implementations using SAP Activate or ASAP methodologies.
  

• Certifications: SAP Certification or a postgraduate degree in Computer Science is considered an added advantage.
  

• Domain & Infrastructure Experience: Prior experience with network infrastructure, cloud hosting environments, or the pharmaceutical industry is an added advantage.
