Position Summary

The Lease Records Analyst supports the Land group by managing and analyzing lease, contract, title, and acreage records. This position maintains accurate land records, administers lease obligations, supports acquisitions and divestitures, and works closely with Land, Accounting, and other departments.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain lease, contract, title, and land-related data in Landworks
  • Record, set up and maintain oil and gas leases, deeds, assignments, JOAs, rights-of-way, ONRR documents, and other agreements when applicable
  • Review leases, title opinions, deeds, and related documents to ensure accurate ownership and acreage records, including gross and net acreage, and depth severances
  • Administer lease payment and other contractual obligations and review monthly obligation reports
  • Monitor lease expirations and communicate upcoming obligations to appropriate departments
  • Maintain acquisition and divestiture records and process related documentation
  • Prepare acreage reports, schedules, exhibits, and other Land-related reports
  • Maintain and upload Land documents in Dynamic Docs
  • Research and coordinate special projects related to lease, contract, and land records
  • Provide support to the Land Manager and perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Energy Management, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of oil and gas industry experience, preferably in Land or Lease Administration
  • CPLTA certification through NALTA preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • Experience with Landworks, Dynamic Docs, or similar systems preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across departments
  • Ability to interpret leases, title opinions, contracts, and other land-related documents
