Job Summary:Â The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring quality and efficient general facility and equipment maintenance under minimum supervision, as well as executing service requests and repairs as directed.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Applies basic knowledge of repair and replacement of general fixtures including doors, windows, walls, flooring, ceilings, roofs, furniture, and cabinetry.
- Executes in-room maintenance as directed (authorization by the supervisor required to enter rooms).
- Completes all necessary work orders and inventory requirements.
- Performs routine equipment maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and makes on-site repairs when needed.
- Removal of old equipment when necessary and trains staff on equipment operating procedures.
- Ensures compliance with health and safety legislation and company policies.
- Liaises with the Maintenance Supervisor
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent with at least 3-5 years technical training as a maintenance technician
--OR—
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering with 1-2 years technical training as a maintenance technician
- Proven work experience as a maintenance engineer with ability to satisfactorily pass a practical assessment of knowledge.
- CPO, EPA, and OSHA Certification and Hazwoper training preferred.

- Competencies in plumbing, electric, and HVAC repairs with minimal assistance or supervision.
- Working knowledge of appliances and equipment.
- The ability to work well under pressure and demonstrate high-level problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Ability to demonstrate good judgment when dealing with guests and staff members.
- Ability to understand and adhere to safety, equipment, and maintenance procedures.
- Good communication and training skills.
- Ability to read system schematics.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Standing and walking frequently for up to entire work shift.
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally while reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, twisting, and turning.
- Able to lift/carry supplies or equipment of 50lbs or more with frequent reaching stooping, bending, and kneeling.
- Manual dexterity and mobility required.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
