POSITION SUMMARY:
Maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots rig mechanical equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations. Coordinates preventive maintenance and major equipment overhauls, manages spare parts inventory, performs emergency repairs, and provides hands-on support for rig floor operations and general maintenance activities.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To ensure that all operation of electrical rig components is carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with the manufacturers' specifications.
  • To carry out unscheduled repairs at the rig site and camp.
  • To liaise with the Rig Manager, Driller and Electrician to schedule major overhauls of rig equipment.
  • To ensure the availability of adequate spare parts for electrical equipment through the inventory system, both for routine maintenance and to cover unscheduled maintenance or replacements.
  • Mechanic provides manual labor and support of duties pertaining to the rig floor.


 REQUIREMENTS:

  • HS diploma or GED.
  • Preferably 5+ years electrician experience in the drilling industry. Entry level will be considered.
  • Should possess current 1st Aid, CPR, or be willing to go through the training once employed.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English to be able to understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Possess hazard awareness necessary to operate safely within the drilling environment.
  • Able to work in high places for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to climb tall flights of stairs, work out of a riding harness and lift 50 lbs.
  • MUST pass urinary drug screening.
