This is a Mechanical/Structural Designer position focused on developing detailed 3D models and structural  designs utilising SolidWorks. The position involves collaborating with engineering teams to produce production- ready drawings, perform structural analysis, and ensure designs comply with industry standards. This role is critical for driving precision engineering and optimising structural components from initial concept through final design delivery.

What You’ll Do
You’ll be the kind of person who

  • Develop comprehensive 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Design structural components and mechanical assemblies in compliance with project requirements and engineering standards.
  • Perform structural calculations, stress analysis, and finite element analysis (FEA)to ensure design integrity.
  • Select appropriate materials, hardware, and fabrication processes suitable for structural integrity and cost-efficiency.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve design challenges and refine structural specifications.
  • Review and revise design documentation based on feedback, design reviews, and engineering change orders.
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation, file structures, and design revisions within designated data management systems


Requirements

What You Bring
We’re looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Structural Engineering is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical and structural design, or related engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, including weldments, sheet metal, and structural modelling tools.
  • Strong knowledge of structural design principles, materials selection, and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software and simulation tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and high attention to detail in technical drafting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
