Job Description: Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O Architect

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) Architect to drive the end-to-end design, implementation, and optimization of our ERP system. As a trusted advisor, you will bridge the gap between complex business requirements and technical solutions, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performance outcomes. The ideal candidate possesses deep functional knowledge of finance/supply chain modules alongside strong technical architectural capabilities in Azure and Power Platform.

Key Responsibilities

Architectural Leadership: Define and own the end-to-end solution architecture for Dynamics 365 F&O, ensuring alignment with overall enterprise technology strategy and business goals.
Solution Design & Strategy: Lead blueprinting, fit-gap analysis, and design sessions. Create functional and technical design documents (FDD/TDD) that translate business needs into scalable solutions.
System Integration & Data: Design integrations with external systems, third-party applications, and Dataverse, utilizing Azure Logic Apps, APIs, and Data Management Framework (DMF).
Governance & Standards: Establish best practices for configuration, customization (extensions-first approach), security models, and code management (Azure DevOps/CI/CD).
Implementation Oversight: Guide functional and technical teams throughout the implementation lifecycle, conducting design reviews, and validating deliverables.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders (Finance, Supply Chain, IT) and the delivery team to manage expectations, scope, and risks.
Performance & Compliance: Ensure system performance optimization and adherence to security and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOX, Taxation/VAT).

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience: 10+ years of ERP implementation experience, with at least 5+ years specializing in Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O or AX 2012.
Full Lifecycle Experience: Proven experience in at least 2–3 full-cycle, large-scale ERP implementations.
Functional Expertise: Deep knowledge of core D365 F&O modules: General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Supply Chain Management.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in X++, SQL, Data Entities, and Azure services (Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL).
Architecture Frameworks: Strong understanding of environment management, release strategies, and security design.
Communication: Excellent leadership, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing C-level executives.

Preferred Experience

Experience with Dual Write and Dataverse integrations.
Exposure to AI/Copilot capabilities within D365 F&O.
Experience with Retail POS, WMS, or manufacturing modules.
Experience in pre-sales activities, including RFPs, demos, and POCs.
