We are looking for an Operations & Sales Development Consultant to work in our premier US manufacturing representative group Avision.  


Avision is a manufacturer's representative company with advanced and seasoned professional sales, customer support, marketing and inside sales teams. Avision has a local focus that is national in scope, catering to world-class manufacturers in the janitorial and foodservice disposable industries.   


Position Summary:

Responsible for providing exceptional support to our Field Sales teams, maintaining strong relationships with Manufacturer Partners, Distributors, and End User customers while identifying opportunities to grow customer relationships and support revenue generation by leading sales development activities, supporting promotional campaigns, and ensuring alignment between the OSD and field sales teams. This role combines customer support responsibilities with proactive sales development activities. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Act as the primary point of contact between Purchasing and Sales for assigned distributors.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Distributor contacts and Manufacturer Partners.
  • Provide excellent customer service and sales support via email and phone, addressing inquiries related to accounts, products, pricing, services, shipments, tracking, special orders, and more.
  • Resolve service, quality, and return issues by collaborating with Manufacturer Customer Service teams.
  • Support Field Sellers throughout all stages of the sales cycle, helping with pre-call planning, opportunity reviews, campaign execution, and post-sale support.
  • Ensure consistent and timely communication with distributors regarding price increases, discontinued items, service updates, and more.
  • Manage pricing and quotes, including POD contracts, pricing profiles, and assisting with monthly rebate and deduction reconciliation.
  • Process and manage distributor local rebate programs, including new requests and renewals.
  • Maintain accurate distributor records within REVit and all system platforms; ensure all customer interactions and activity are properly documented.
  • Assist with bid submissions and manage order processing and order inquiries.
  • Handle objections and resolve customer concerns in a professional and solutions-oriented manner.
  • Ensure data accuracy and timely updates in CRM systems and related sales tools.
  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and proactive outbound calls/emails.
  • Qualify prospects based on interest, budget, purchasing ability, and strategic fit.
  • Route qualified leads to field sales teams when appropriate for closing opportunities.
  • Support and assist in executing campaigns and promotions to boost pipeline and sales results.
  • Engage customers using tools such as SaleSpark™ to enhance outreach, strengthen relationships, and improve conversion.
  • Collaborate to optimize lead generation campaigns and nurture pipelines.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships through ongoing communication and support.

Key Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated ability to prospect and target new sales opportunities
  • Proven experience in inside sales or customer service.
  • Strong phone presence and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a strong sense of accountability.
  • Comfortable making daily calls and engaging customers directly.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Accuracy in managing data, documentation, and CRM updates.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a customer-first approach.
  • Proficient in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales support tools.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal departments and external partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive sales or business development experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales quotas and drive pipeline growth.
  • Experience in B2B sales preferred, ideally within manufacturer’s representative industry.

Physical Requirements:  

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
  • Occasional travel by automobile, train or airplane

Specific compensation is determined through interviews and a review of relevant education, experience, training, skills, geographic location and alignment with market data. Additionally, certain positions may be eligible to receive a discretionary incentive bonus as determined by incentive program guidelines, position eligibility and Senior Management approval.
