Operations and Maintenance Manager

Armstrong Flight Research Center, Edwards, CA


This position is responsible for:

· Validating asset availability while planning military tests, and ensuring it is in the right place at the right time once test plans are approved

· Managing team (e.g., electronics technicians, computer operators, field service engineers)

Duties:

· Directs the overall operations, maintenance, repair, administration and logistics of the Dryden Aeronautical Test Range (DATR)

· Supports operations and missions to include aerospace flight research and technology integration, space exploration concepts, airborne remote sensing and science missions, and emergency communications for the International Space Station (ISS).

· Reviews task order requests and supports preparation of technical and cost proposals for the customer testing exercises

· Oversee minor construction actions (e.g. – installing conduit, brackets, antennae, gypsum board and paining) as required by NASA ensuring adherence to requirements

· Facility management of NASA assigned spaces ensuring compliance to requirements

· Tracks and manages employee training as required by NASA

· Maintains inventory and produces reports of the government provided assets

· Ensures customer satisfaction, safety, quality, and other regulatory and contractual requirements

· Verifies team member performance goals are met and validates that all required certification and training are maintained, including developing and maintaining employeer training plans for each position held under supervision

· Work with the management team and technical staff to analyze program risks and performance for management and stakeholders


Required Experience:

Prefer 3 years of supervisory or management experience

Technical familiarity with the equipment maintained at the Dryden Aeronautical Test Range (DATR)


Education/Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with a minimum of 7 years of job-related experience; 15 years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Currently Secret Clearance


Knowledge and Skills:

Managing Government Property and Inventory, including repair parts

Deploying and tracking assets used in military test exercises
