St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 employees. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. Duties: 
The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting venous and capillary blood specimens from patients in a safe and accurate manner according to established lab policies and practices. Demonstrates H3W behaviors with a focus on exceptional patient experience and quality service and outcomes.

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Knowledge of venipuncture techniques
• Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude
• Good keyboarding skills with ability to learn various laboratory application and HHC computer systems
• Continuous improvement mindset
• Ability to handle different patient population including difficult patients.
• Strong trouble shooting and problem solving skills
• Ability to operate required lab equipment including pneumatic tube
