Schedule: Day Shift. Â 0700-1530 M-F with OT as needed
About the Position
This position does all routine maintenance on campus of the filters and greasing of motors of air handlers. Repair and maintenance of carts, wheelchairs and stretchers. Monitoring and servicing of gas and oxygen bottles.
Overview of Responsibilities
• Reads and understands blueprints as an essential part of carrying out work in various disciplines of the job.
• Performs all levels corrective and preventative maintenance in accordance with the following list to assure the integrity of the plant and equipment and to provide a safe and comfortable environment for the patients, visitors, and staff
A. Dietary food equipment (20 qt and 60 qt mixer, food slicer, floor stand mixer, conveyor, steam kettles).
B. Dietary cleaning equipment (cart washer, dishwasher, waste disposal).
C. Laundry equipment (100 # tumblers, continuous batch washer, cross folders, dryers, ironers, extractor press, sheet stacker, shuttle, small piece folder, spreader).
D. Mechanical pumps (chilled water, hot water, circulating, condense, jet water, sewage ejection, sump, surgical vacuum, boiler feedwater, condenser, and fire pump).
E. Mechanical air (air handling units, air service units, air compressors, fan coil units, air dryers, exhaust fans, dehumidifiers).
F. Mechanical transportation (food carts, sterilizer carts, stretchers).
G. Mechanical miscellaneous (cooling towers, decollator, overhead doors, autopsy tables, paper folder, paper cutter, paper shredder).
H. Maintains hospital vehicle fleet as time permits. Inclusive to this duty is, lubrication/oil changes, tune-up, more complex repairs may be considered.
I. Operates and maintains maintenance service tools in a safe, clean manner.
J. Maintains the shop and storage areas in a orderly and clean manner
K. Completes all documentation necessary to recreate events leading to completion of work order and/or preventative maintenance instructions. Documentation to include property number, narrative of repair work, signature signifying completion, number of manhours to complete work.
L. Maintain a parts inventory necessary for assurance of operation of essential services.
M. Adheres to electrical lockout procedure, performs all work in safe, professional manner adhering to electrical code. Practices and promotes electrical safety.
N. Assists in all emergencies requested. Serves as a member of code green and snow removal teams.
O. Must be willing to up-grade his/her education commensurate with technical demands for his/her craft.
P. Changes out Med gases (Bottled) at different locations in the Outpatient Care Center when reserve alarms come in.
Q. Changes out Med Gases (bottled) at the ROC Facility when reserve alarms come in.

Experience working with motors, pulleys, bearings, and related mechanical components, including lubrication/greasing, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting worn, damaged, or malfunctioning equipment.
