How can you make an impact?

As a Product Owner within Platform, this role is responsible for a defined product, capability, experience, or service area. Under the direction of a Director, the Product Owner partners with users, stakeholders, Engineering, Design, Content, Academic Design, Data, Operations, and related teams to conduct discovery, prioritize work, support roadmap execution, and deliver measurable customer and business value.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. It requires up to 20% travel for the year.

What you will be doing:

  • Contribute to product strategy, roadmap planning, and investment recommendations for an assigned product, capability, experience, or service area.
  • Maintain prioritization aligned to customer needs, business objectives, platform goals, operational considerations, and stakeholder input.
  • Conduct customer, user, market, operational, and stakeholder discovery to understand needs, pain points, opportunities, and success measures.
  • Partner with Engineering, Design, Content, Academic Design, Data, Operations, and business stakeholders to clarify problems, define expected outcomes, and support successful delivery.
  • Support release readiness, adoption planning, customer/stakeholder enablement, and value realization activities in partnership with appropriate go-to-market and operational teams.
  • Monitor adoption, engagement, usage, quality, customer feedback, and/or other relevant product metrics; communicate results and recommend improvements.
  • Communicate priorities, tradeoffs, decisions, progress, and outcomes clearly to stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
  • Represent the voice of the customer and user while balancing business, operational, and platform needs.

What you can bring to this role:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in product ownership, product management, business analysis, customer experience, educational technology, platform products, or related disciplines.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Experience working with customers, users, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to gather insights and shape product priorities.
  • Ability to synthesize customer, usage, financial, operational, and/or research data to support data-informed decision making.
  • Strong organization, responsiveness, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate with Engineering, Design, Product, Content, Data, Operations, and business stakeholders in a cross-functional environment.
  • Understanding of product lifecycle practices, roadmap planning, prioritization, discovery, launch/adoption readiness, and outcome measurement.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and adapt as customer, business, and platform needs evolve.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in higher education, educational technology, SaaS, digital platforms, or related product environments.
  • Experience with product management, research, analytics, collaboration, and planning tools such as Productboard, Jira, Confluence, Tableau, Salesforce, or similar systems.
  • Experience with accessibility, WCAG guidelines, inclusive design, or platform quality expectations.
  • Agile Product Owner certification or demonstrated experience working in agile product delivery environments.

The pay range for this position is between $90,300 - $120,500 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
