K-12 Scholarship Programs - Program Specialist I

Tallahassee State College (TSC), recently recognized as one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges for 2025, is excited to announce a full -time, grant-funded opening for the position of Program Specialist I with Department of Education - K-12 Scholarship Program.

What You’ll Do
As a Program Specialist I, you’ll play a key role in providing vital administrative and technical support for the Scholarship Programs by ensuring accurate communication, data management, and compliance among participating private schools and districts. This role is responsible for maintaining program integrity through timely correspondence, verification of documentation, and accurate recordkeeping, while also assisting with training initiatives and supporting regional managers to ensure consistent program operations statewide.

Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Provides accurate and timely information to private schools regarding the Scholarship Programs.

  • Assists in the facilitation and enforcement of all tasks related to the scholarship program including data management, faxes and mails documents, provides technical support to all participants; maintains and validates data, and assists with training and materials.

  • Provide technical assistance to private schools and districts regarding state scholarship programs related to eligibility requirements and program responsibilities, and document correspondence.

  • Analyzing and interpreting documentation provided program participants for applicability, accuracy, and authenticity.

  • Maintain accurate, current, records of individual private school compliance and student issues.

  • Timely respond to requests from supervisors for school information, data collection and other topics related to scholarship programs.

  • Assist program manager in ongoing training and mentoring new regional managers.

We’re seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Skill in operating personal computer software: Word, Excel, Access. 

  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Ability to analyze and interpret data.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of people.

  • Knowledge of educational programs. 

  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
