3000 Radiology GeneralSchedule: 5a-1:30p Monday, Tuesday, Friday. 8a-8p at Richmond Urgent Care on Wednesday. Â 36 hours weekly. Weekend and on call rotation. Average 2 holidays per year. Â
About the Position
The Radiography Technologist supports the Reid Health Mission, Vision, Values, and Key Service Behaviors. The Radiography Technologist performs radiographic diagnostic imaging examinations on patients per physician/provider orders with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
Overview of Responsibilities
- Competently operates radiographic equipment
- Accurately evaluates requests for radiographic procedures
- Obtains patient history and symptoms
- Performs radiographic procedures per provider orders
- Provides care appropriate to the age-specific needs of the patients served
- Provides explanation and instruction to patients regarding radiographic procedures
- Demonstrates effective communication with patients and families
- Accurately performs appropriate documentation
- Follows radiation safety policies and guidelines
- Takes responsibility for personal radiation safety and exposure monitoring
- Appropriately uses radiation protection devices
- Participates in quality assurance and quality improvement activities
- Assists in the clinical instruction of radiography students

Education & Experience
- Graduate of an approved, 24-month program in Radiologic Technology accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)
- Additional radiology education would be nice to have.

- A minimum of 2 years in an accredited educational program
- Additional experience as a licensed Radiography Technologist after completing the
Licensure & Certification
- Radiologic Technologist license issued by the Indiana Department of Health
- Certification and Registry in Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT.
- Current in BLS certification.
