About this role:Â
This role sits at the intersection of deep Salesforce platform expertise and broader systems thinking. You'll stay hands-on and close to implementation — reviewing code deeply, unblocking complex work, and keeping architecture grounded in real platform constraints — while also shaping strong engineering practices and exploring how Salesforce can participate in agent workflows. This role carries both solution design and delivery mandate.Â
Role responsibilities:Â
- Own platform health. Take ownership of the technical health, design and governance of the Salesforce platform — Apex, LWC, Flow, data model, security model and permission sets.Â
- Set standards. Define and enforce coding standards, AI coding practices and governor limit strategies.Â
- Lead delivery operations. Lead release management, sandbox strategy and DevOps/CI-CD pipelines.Â
- Design integrations. Oversee how Salesforce connects into the broader enterprise landscape — marketing automation, ERP, HR, enrichment tools — using API-led connectivity, event-driven patterns and middleware.Â
- Drive innovation. Assess and champion adoption of new Salesforce features and emerging AI/Agentforce capabilities.Â
- Review and elevate. Lead design reviews and technical RFCs before major builds, and run code reviews focused on teaching and raising the team's technical ceiling.Â
- Mentor and coach. Support mid-to-senior engineers on solution trade-offs, integration impact, scalability and observability (this role may or may not have direct reports).Â
- Bridge business and engineering. Translate business requirements and company OKRs into technical briefs, and connect engineering and product stakeholders.Â
Â
This role is for you if you have:Â
- Hands-on Salesforce development experienceÂ
- Expert-level proficiency in Apex, LWC and Flow — including async processing, batch jobs, triggers and complex component compositionÂ
- Deep knowledge of Salesforce data modelling, SOQL optimisation and large data volumesÂ
- Strong understanding of integration patterns: REST APIs, event streaming, middlewareÂ
- Experience with DevOps and CI-CD tooling — Git strategy, scratch orgs, deployment automationÂ
- Comfortable communicating architecture clearly to non-technical stakeholders and leading design reviewsÂ
- Experience mentoring engineers through code reviews, design critiques and pairing sessionsÂ
- Familiarity with Account Engagement and/or Marketing Cloud is a plusÂ
- Salesforce Platform Developer II and Administrator certifications required; Application Architect, System Architect, AI Associate/Specialist or Integration Architecture Designer certifications are strongly preferredÂ
Â
This role is not for you if:Â
- You'd rather stay purely hands-on than also own architecture, standards and platform governance — this role carries bothÂ
- You're not interested in mentoring — teaching through code reviews and design critiques is core to the roleÂ
- You prefer working in a single domain — this role spans platform, integrations, DevOps and cross-team alignmentÂ
- You're not curious about emerging AI/Agentforce capabilities — exploring how Salesforce fits into agent workflows is part of the jobÂ
