Programme Overview

Peepul is committed to driving systemic improvements within the public education landscape of the national capital. Working in close conjunction with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and other key government entities, our Delhi programmes aim to build the capacity of educators, streamline academic interventions, and strengthen institutional frameworks at the foundational level. This partnership focuses on rolling out scalable, high-impact initiatives that directly improve the quality of teaching and learning in MCD-administered schools across all zones.

About the role

The Senior Associate – Delhi PMU is a critical execution-focused role within Peepul's Delhi team. This position serves as an essential bridge between strategic programme planning and ground-level implementation across MCD zones.

The ideal candidate is a driven, detail-oriented, and collaborative professional who can independently manage day-to-day project activities, maintain robust tracking systems, liaise effectively with zonal and school-level government officials, and support the Project Manager in the seamless delivery of programme objectives. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute meaningfully to one of India's most impactful urban education reform initiatives.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Programme Implementation & Coordination

  • Support the end-to-end implementation of Peepul's educational interventions across MCD zones, ensuring adherence to programme timelines, quality benchmarks, and strategic goals.
  • Assist in the design, roll-out, and documentation of academic support activities targeting teachers, Mentor Teachers, and school leaders within MCD-administered schools.
  • Coordinate with zonal-level officials, school principals, and Mentor Teachers to facilitate smooth and timely delivery of programme activities.
  • Track and document programme deliverables across assigned zones and flag deviations from planned milestones to the Senior Project Manager in a timely manner.

Monitoring, Reporting & Data Management

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of programme progress, field visits, and intervention outcomes across all assigned zones.
  • Prepare regular progress reports, status updates, and data summaries for internal review and submission to government partners.
  • Proactively identify emerging implementation challenges at the zonal level and escalate issues with relevant context and proposed solutions.

Stakeholder Engagement & Government Liaison

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with MCD officials, zonal education officials' functionaries, and school-level staff.
  • Coordinate and follow up on government correspondence, meeting action points, and inter-departmental communications under the guidance of the Senior Project Manager.
  • Facilitate and support the logistics and execution of government-level meetings, capacity-building workshops, and field visits.

Team Collaboration & Knowledge Management

  • Work collaboratively within the Delhi PMU team, contributing actively to team reviews, planning cycles, and joint problem-solving sessions.
  • Maintain a positive and accountable culture of trust, high expectations, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Contribute to codifying learnings, best practices, and intervention materials to build an accessible knowledge base for the programme.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior associates where applicable and contribute to their professional development.

Qualifications and Role Requirements:

At Peepul, we seek talented professionals passionate about driving educational transformation and making a positive impact. We are looking for individuals who possess the following qualifications and meet the role requirements:

  • Educational Background: A relevant educational background in Education, Social Sciences, Consulting, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Work Experience: We value both professional and personal experience. Candidates with 2-4 years of experience leading and managing education-related projects, preferably within the public school system or education non-profits particularly in areas such as project management, monitoring units or educational interventions. Preference will be given to candidates who also have direct classroom and teaching experience, ideally within the government school system.
  • Other Skills: Strong project management skills, including planning, implementation, and evaluation of interventions.
