Job Summary
SHI One is an exciting team within the Advanced Solutions Group of SHI that is building new digital experiences for our internal users, customers and partners.The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for the analysis, design, and development of solutions focused on data engineering and ETL workflows. As a Sr. Software Engineer - Data, you will work with customers and internal stakeholders to understand their business needs and help them achieve outcomes with your solutions and guidance. You will research all data sources concerning business operations and be responsible for outlining designs to integrate, centralize, and maintain the data. You will help to establish a new data engineering practice and be a technical leader within the Product organization.
Role Description
Help to drive our organizational data strategy, including data model designs, database development standards, implementation and management of data warehouses and data analytics systemsÂ
Share expertise by collaborating and coaching team members through code and design reviews to ensure code integration into systems is up to team standardsÂ
Set a positive example for the team by consistently shipping high quality solutions and maintaining a high standard of technical excellenceÂ
Coordinate and collaborate with development teams, stakeholders, and customers for smooth functioning of data systemsÂ
Extend and support a dataengineering environment with a focus on developer experience thatfacilitates maximum efficiency, testing, and integrationÂ
Make recommendations for continuous improvement of our existingdata and ETLprocessesÂ
Participate in optimizing our end-to-end data architecture, from selection of technology, design, development, security, and testing of applicationsÂ
Lead in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, architecture diagrams and visualizations for development teams and internal stakeholdersÂ
Review best practices around data architecture with internal team membersÂ
Key Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or relevant work experienceÂ
Minimum 10 years' experience developing data applications, relational databases, and ETL platformsÂ
Previous Experience building highly available and testable ETL systems that support critical business operationsÂ
Expert knowledge of data modeling, database design, and data warehousingÂ
Expert knowledge of SQL scriptingÂ
Demonstrates excellent spoken and written communication as well as receptive listening skillsÂ
Ability to present ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiencesÂ
Ability to shift priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesÂ
Strong ability to work independently or in a team-oriented, collaborative environmentÂ
Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasksÂ
Excellent time-management skillsÂ
Strong problem prevention, and problem-solving skillsÂ
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasksÂ
Preferred Skills
Computer science education or equivalent experienceÂ
Hands-on experience with DatabricksÂ
Hands-on experience with PowerBI report developmentÂ
Hands-on experience and knowledge of the Python programming languageÂ
Experience processing and reporting against large amounts of financial data in a scalable fashionÂ
Public cloud expertise and/or certifications - Azure, AWS, GCPÂ
Hands-on experience with DevOps methodologies and concepts including CI/CD, IaC and automated testingÂ

The estimated annual pay range for this position is $150,000 - $190,000 which includes a base salary. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
