We are seeking a Senior Engineer to design, build, and support solutions across global merchandising technology platforms. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality solutions, owning key application areas, and contributing to technical direction.
This role works across a dual legacy and modern environment, supporting existing systems while contributing to modernization, optimization, and platform evolution.
Responsibilities
Technology Delivery & ExecutionÂ
- Design, develop, and maintain applications and services supporting merchandising capabilitiesÂ
- Deliver enhancements, integrations, and defect resolution across platformsÂ
- Contribute to development and integration of AI/ML-driven features within applications and servicesÂ
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot) to improve coding efficiency and qualityÂ
- Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, and reliability requirementsÂ
- Participate in system monitoring, support, and incident resolutionÂ

Core Platforms & CapabilitiesÂ
- Own and support a set of applications or capabilities, which may include:Â Â
- Planning (allocation, assortment, MFP)Â
- Pricing, promotion, and markdownÂ
- Core merchandising and item/product systemsÂ
- Inventory, replenishment, and size/pack optimizationÂ
- Support and enhance legacy platforms while identifying opportunities for improvement and modernization Â
Â
Engineering PracticesÂ
- Follow engineering best practices for coding, testing, and deploymentÂ
- Demonstrate proficiency across multiple technologies and languages, adapting to different systems and platforms as neededÂ
- Contribute to code reviews and ensure adherence to standardsÂ
- Build and maintain integrations using APIs, messaging, and data pipelinesÂ
- Support CI/CD pipelines and automation effortsÂ

Execution & CollaborationÂ
- Work with cross-functional teams to deliver projects, enhancements, and fixesÂ
- Collaborate across onshore/offshore teams and time zonesÂ
- Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning and retrospectivesÂ
- Communicate technical solutions clearly to business and technical stakeholdersÂ
Â
Modernization & Improvement Â
- Contribute to efforts to refactor, migrate, or replace legacy systemsÂ
- Identify opportunities to improve system performance and maintainabilityÂ
- Help drive simplification and consolidation of technology platformsÂ
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fieldÂ
- 5–8 years of experience in application development and supportÂ
- Experience with enterprise platforms and distributed systemsÂ
- Strong experience with APIs, integration technologies, and databasesÂ
- Experience working across legacy and modern environmentsÂ
- Familiarity with data-driven and AI-enabled solutions, with interest or experience in applying machine learning or intelligent automation in enterprise environmentsÂ
- Experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD, and DevOps toolsÂ
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsÂ
- Experience working in global, distributed teamsÂ

Benefits
The annual base salary range is $100,000 - $130,000. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below.
