The Aerospace Standards Committee Manager plays a vital role in driving the success of SAEās global standards development efforts. In this role, youāll work directly with technical committees and industry leaders to support the development, maintenance, and promotion of critical aerospace standards that advance safety, innovation, and global collaboration.
As the primary point of contact for assigned technical committees, youāll manage the standards development process, guide committees through key operational and strategic decisions, and ensure adherence to policies and procedures. This role offers the opportunity to engage with global industry leaders through up to 40% travel - including international destinations - to support and manage mission-critical technical committee meetings. This role combines project management, stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, and operational execution, offering variety and meaningful impact in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSĀ
Manage the work of assigned technical committees, ensuring the successful development, maintenance, and publication of SAE standardsĀ
Serve as the primary liaison to committee leadership and members,Ā facilitatingĀ communication, providing guidance on policy and process, and delivering training as neededĀ
Support both virtual and in-person committee meetings, working closely with the Standards Operations Specialist to planĀ logisticsĀ and coordinate schedulesĀ
Lead technical committee meetings,Ā representingĀ SAE andĀ facilitatingĀ productive discussions that advance committee objectivesĀ
Use metrics, industry knowledge, and committee data to assess committee health,Ā identifyĀ growth opportunities, and drive continuous improvementĀ
Collaborate with colleagues across SAEāincluding product, content management, legal, marketing, and salesāto ensure efficient standards development from initiation to publicationĀ
Provide administrative oversight for SAEās Standards Systems Groups and support committee use of SAE platforms, policies, and toolsĀ
IdentifyĀ and implement process improvements to enhance committee operations and overall program efficiencyĀ
Hire, supervise, and assign work to editorial consultants and subcontractors as neededĀ
Build andĀ maintainĀ relationships with internal partners, industry associations, and external organizations to support committee activities and strategic partnershipsĀ
Promote the work of SAE technical committees through presentations, industry engagement, and targeted outreach effortsĀ
AssistĀ in developing marketing strategies to advance committee visibility, participation, and usage of SAE standardsĀ

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSĀ
Bachelorās degree in businessĀ or related field, andĀ
4 years' (5+ years preferred) experience in managing committees/working with technical organizations or similar collaborative groupsĀ Ā
Ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures whileĀ maintainingĀ business and strategic interestsĀ
Strong reliability and professionalismĀ
Ability to work in a team and individuallyĀ
