Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.Membership is aĀ minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per weekĀ and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.

This is a pro bono volunteer position.

JerseySTEM is seeking a skilled Scrum Master to help implement and execute transformational organization outcomes. The candidate will have demonstrated expertise and application of Agile methodologies, techniques and frameworks, a successful track record of driving and facilitating teams, commitment to continuous learning and mindset of relentless improvement.Ā 

Responsibilities

  • Attend the Scrum meeting of the team you will be supporting (weekly or daily).
  • Create user stories to describe work items, with clear descriptions and acceptance criteria.
  • Prioritize stories for the backlog and keep the team organized and focused.
  • Conduct weekly meetings and monitor the health of the Kanban or Sprint board.
  • Encourage team members to utilize JIRA for task management.
  • Drive open communication with team members.
  • Be the servant leader for the team members, mentoring/assisting them when needed.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and be ā€œTHE CHAMPION OF CHANGEā€.

Qualifications

Technical Qualifications:

  • Experience using Jira, Kanban or Sprint Board, SlackĀ 
  • Excellent communication, analytical, mentoring and problem-solving skills
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification preferred
