Long Description

Role Summary 
To perform maintenance, service, and repair work on large and small tool & dies regarding engineering changes and improvements,


Key Responsibilities 

  • General drilling and tapping, milling, turning, and grinding - cylindrical & surface - in the tool room.
  • Service work on all dies in the Press Shop.
  • Repair in the press during failure.
  • Ensure quality of press parts by optimized die maintenance.
  • Responsible for spare parts stock
  • Servicing of dies with stamping nuts and supportive equipment.
  • PM (Preventive Maintenance on Tooling)
  • Re-construction of dies: turning, milling, drilling, and grinding
  • Spotting of dies
  • MIG, TIG, Stick welding


Education & Experience 

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent; required
  • Toolmaker Apprenticeship/Journeyman preferred
  • Associate degree in machining preferred


Key Qualifications/Requirements 

  • Minimum of Five (5) years automotive tool & die experience preferred
  • Class A automotive experience preferred
  • Knowledge in pneumatics 
  • Experience with nut setting equipment 
  • Standard parts 
  • MIG, TIG, Stick welding, hard brazing
  • Basic CAD drawing knowledge
  • Metric System
  • Basic knowledge of press operation
