Performs a wide range of skilled and unskilled construction tasks on assigned renovation and new construction projects that support the healthcare mission of WVU Hospitals and its facilities.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE:
1. 1 year of experience in the construction field performing work in a commercial/residential setting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Completion of educational curriculum from a trade or vocational school.
2. License or certification of at least one of the following construction disciplines: Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, or HVAC.

1. Must have basic carpentry, electrical and plumbing skills as identified below:
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Framing with metal studs
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Measuring, cutting, hanging drywall
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Finishing drywall by taping, sanding and applying a finish
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Framing and hanging doors
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Installing electrical conduit and pulling wiring
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Installing a variety of electrical devices and safely terminating connections.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Installing and hanging HVAC ductwork and devices
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Roughing in and installing new plumbing fixtures, valves, supply, drain and vent lines
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Installing different types of flooring materials.
2. Must be capable of reading and interpreting construction drawings and detailed specialty equipment installation specifications.
3. Must be knowledgeable of safe construction practices.
4. Must be knowledgeable of Life Safety codes
5. Must be knowledgeable of Infection control practices as they relate to construction and renovation work in the hospital environment.
6. Must be capable of interacting with all levels of employees

1. Ability to climb and work off of ladders, scaffolding, or electric lifts.
2. Must be able to read blueprint drawings and specifications.聽
3. Must be able to lift at least 75 pounds.
