This is a 1st shift opportunity in the Milling Department and involves performing a series of complex machine operations. Typical job runs are 1-10 parts.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Retrieve CNC programs and load to the machine

  • Set up, load, and operate CNC machines to produce parts per prints

  • Edit in G-code and manually program using Mazatrol Control or other applicable machine control

  • Set up fixtures and come up with setups on machine

  • Perform first piece and in-process quality inspections

  • Set up cutters in holders and adjust height and length

  • Read drawings/prints to identify operations, specification, and tolerances

  • Meet precise tolerances and finishing requirements

  • Use various hand tools to finish parts and check

  • Use measuring devices like micrometers and calipers to ensure specifications are met

  • Perform operator maintenance tasks like oiling, greasing, and cleaning the machine (5S)

  • Use forklift or crane to store and retrieve fixtures and other essential equipment

  • Operate other machines in the department as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required, advanced education or apprenticeship preferred

  • 5 years of CNC mill set-up and programming/editing experience required

  • Mazak experience preferred

  • Strong skills in editing G-code and manual programming in Mazatrol preferred

  • Strong math skills and the ability to work from detailed and involved part drawings and specifications to perform operations to the capacity of the machine and controls are also essential

  • Willingness to move between work centers

 

Work Environment / Physical Demands: 

  • Ability to lift heavy weights, bend, stoop and perform repetitive tasks

  • Ability to work in various conditions such as extreme heat and noise level
