The Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) provides clinical and administrative support to the ACT Team part-time (up to 20 hours per week) under the direction of the medication provider, RN, and ACT Team Lead. The RMA assists in ensuring the efficient operation of the ACT medication clinic by facilitating client appointments, coordinating medical needs, obtaining clinical information, assisting with medication management, and maintaining accurate documentation. The RMA delivers services utilizing trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and person-centered practices to support individuals with serious mental illness and co-occurring disorders. 


Preferred Qualifications:   

    • Training/Continual Education: 
    • Annual training  
    • Adhering to Code of Ethics and the credentialing body’s certification standards. 

     

    Education:

    • High School diploma or equivalent. 

     

    Responsibilities: 

    • Obtain and document vital signs, weight, and other required clinical information for psychiatric appointments and medication management. 
    • Assist the medication provider and ACT RN with medication clinic operations, including preparation for appointments and administration of injections as permitted by agency policy. 
    • Monitor and report medication side effects, adverse reactions, and other clinical concerns to nursing staff and prescribing providers. 
    • Coordinate medication refills, prior authorizations, laboratory orders, and communication with pharmacies and healthcare providers. 
    • Maintain accurate medication logs, injection records, and clinical documentation within the electronic health record. 
    • Provide basic medication and wellness education to clients and support engagement in treatment. 
    • Participate in ACT team staffing and communicate relevant clinical information to team members. 
    • Maintain a trauma-informed, person-centered approach in all client interactions. 
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the medication provider, ACT RN, and ACT Team Lead. 

     

    Physical Requirements: 

    • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. 
    • TB test upon hire. 
    • Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, telephone, copier, and other office equipment.
    • Sufficient sensory-motor dexterity to complete motor skills test, including vision, hearing and speech.
    • Requires prolonged sitting, frequent standing and stooping.
