Purpose

The Career Success office is looking for a student career associate to staff our front desk located in the Flawn Academic Center. Career Associates will assist students in checking in for their career advising appointments, greeting faculty, staff, and employer guests, and assisting with department projects as needed. We are needing coverage for the front desk specifically on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays and interested applicants must be available to work between 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays with flexibility for coverage on Fridays.  

Responsibilities

  • Greet students, guests, faculty, and staff and provide wayfinding on the 2nd floor  

  • Assist with check in for appointments at the front desk  

  • Answer the phone and provide necessary information to callers 

  • Assist with department projects as needed 

  • Provide back up support to our full-time front desk administrator 

Required Qualifications

  • Applicants must be able to work between 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays with flexibility for coverage on Fridays. Other hours to be determined based upon applicant’s schedule. 

  • Punctuality and reliability. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous front desk experience  

  • Previous customer service experience  

Salary Range

$12.00 per hour

Working Conditions

  • Work to be performed in standard office environment

  • Repetitive use of keyboard

  • Lifting, pushing, pulling or standing required regularly

Work Shift

  • Applicants must be able to work between 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays with flexibility for coverage on Fridays.
