The Opportunity
Lesley University’s Threshold Program invites applications for Community Coaches to provide individualized, in-home and community-based skills training to young adults and clients with neurodiverse profiles. Community Coaches support clients in developing greater independence and becoming active participants in their communities. Coaching activities may include, but are not limited to, accessing community activities and resources, socialization, employment-related skills, independent living, and self-care. Community Coaches maintain regular communication with clients, families, and other professionals involved in the client’s natural support system, as appropriate.

Since this is an evergreen position, your materials will remain on file and will be reviewed on an as-needed basis depending on program needs and client availability. By submitting your application, you will be put into consideration for current and future Community Coach opportunities within the Threshold Program. The specific schedule, hours, and client assignment may vary depending on program and client needs. All positions require onsite availability in Cambridge, MA.

Lesley University’s Threshold Program provides educational and support services designed to help young adults with diverse learning profiles develop the skills, confidence, and independence needed to navigate college, employment, community life, and other aspects of adulthood. Through individualized support and hands-on learning experiences, the program helps students build meaningful connections and participate more fully in their communities.

Qualities & Capabilities
A successful candidate will have:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- 1–2 years of experience working with neurodiverse individuals or in a related support, education, human services, or community-based setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive and supportive relationships with clients, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work collaboratively with others.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in supporting client needs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

- Experience supporting young adults with neurodiverse profiles in developing independent living, social, employment, or community participation skills.
- Experience working in an educational, human services, or community-based setting.
- Familiarity with person-centered approaches to supporting individuals with diverse learning and support needs.
