UNDERWRITER - COMMERCIAL

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Commercial Underwriter to join our financial services team. In this role, you will evaluate and analyze commercial loan applications, assess risk, and determine creditworthiness to support our lending objectives. Your expertise in financial analysis, industry regulations, and risk management will drive sound decision-making and contribute to the growth of our commercial portfolio. You will underwrite property and casualty insurance applications.

Duties:

• Quotes assigned new accounts and renewals.
• Evaluates loss history and inspection reports, adjusting assessments based on specifications.
• Prepares proposals.
• Responsible for issuing endorsements, authorizing certificates of insurance, and following up on recommendations for assigned accounts.
• Monitors the public liability line of business.
• Prepares quarterly performance reports and corrective action plans, as needed.
• Responsible for the umbrella line of business (renewals and new business).
• Prepares reserve movement reports.
• Maintains up-to-date system information for policies involving facultative reinsurance, coinsurance, and special risks.
• Monitors the performance and loss history of high-frequency accounts.
• Provides service, follow-up, and site visits for producers and brokers.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or related.
• Minimum Three (3) years on experience.
• Basic knowledge in computer system.
• Analytical skills.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• In-depth knowledge of property and casualty insurance, regulations, and best practices.
• Knowledge of "Cover-All" policies.
