The Role
We are seeking anĀ Electrical VDC Coordinator (BIM Manager level)Ā to join our teamĀ on-site in San Jose, CAĀ supporting a major client. This position will play a key role inĀ leading coordination efforts for electrical scopes on high-complexity projects, while serving as the bridge between the field, remote BIM teams, and the clientās project management group.
General Scope & Goals
The Electrical VDC Coordinator leads the end-to-end electrical coordination processāmanaging workflows, aligning schedules, and ensuring high-quality model deliverables (LOD 400/500) that meet client and construction standards.
While primarily focused on leadership and coordination, this role remainsĀ hands-on, ensuring technical accuracy and direct contribution to modeling and clash detection.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Coordination:Ā Supervise and support BIM modelers and electrical specialists.
- Field Collaboration:Ā Act as theĀ on-site BIM lead, coordinating between the jobsite, ENGās remote production team, and other trades.
- Stakeholder Management:Ā Maintain constant alignment with the client, project managers, and other disciplines.
- Project Execution:Ā Guarantee model accuracy, constructability, and timely delivery.
- Technical Support:Ā Mentor team members and provide guidance on standards and best practices.
- QA/QC:Ā Review electrical models and drawings for compliance with project and quality standards before submission.
- Leadership:Ā Represent ENGās BIM expertise in coordination meetings, promoting proactive problem-solving and clear communication.
Mandatory Requirements
- Bachelorās Degree or Technical Training inĀ Electrical or Civil Engineering.
- 5+ years of experienceĀ usingĀ Revit and NavisworksĀ for Electrical coordination.
- Proven experienceĀ leading BIM teamsĀ and technical coordination for large projects.
- StrongĀ client-facing communicationĀ and organizational skills.
- Experience withĀ U.S. projects, codes, and construction standards.
- Proficiency inĀ LOD 400/500Ā deliverables, prefabrication, kitting, and spooling workflows.
- Must beĀ based in the United StatesĀ andĀ able to work on-site in San Jose, CA for approximately 2 years.
Nice to Have
- Experience inĀ healthcare projectsĀ and large-scale commercial construction.
- Previous exposure toĀ remote-team coordination from the jobsite.
- Familiarity with prefabrication and field installation workflows.
